The "Y" offers (free to members) child care while parents exercise, as well as an abundant schedule of fitness classes… including -- karate, yoga, aerobics and cycling (spin) classes. The Pooler YMCA has regular "get-togethers" for members: cookouts, outdoor family activities, day camp and after school programs. They also have a separate Early Learning Center for children through Pre-Kindergarten age.

Rumor has it that Memorial Health had planned to build a new hospital in Pooler by 2011, but due to recent changes under the Obama administration - that plan is being revisited. Finding good medical care in Pooler is becoming easier as new medical centers continue to open. In the Godley Station part of town (alone) several new medical practice buildings are either under construction, or have recently begun accepting patients. Godley Station - Pooler, is home to the West Chatham YMCA. This branch facility is family oriented, with a rather large youth athletics program. They offer a variety of sports programs for children & adults, a huge swimming pool (with spray park & water slide), large weight training / exercise facilities, as well as indoor basketball / volleyball courts.
