By: Trevor Price
The most effective method for osteoarthritis pain relief is any treatment that reduces inflammation. And while there are numerous natural treatments and herbs which can do that, it s important to learn which ones work for you. The best part? Many of these natural treatments have little or no side effects.
If you want to know more about natural and herbal osteoarthritis pain relief, then read on.
Boswellia Tree Extract
Boswellia is a powerful anti inflammatory agent that has been clinically tested on humans. Not only can this plant derivative reduce inflammation, but it will also help with circulation. That increased circulation can take pressure off joints and improve blood flow.
Celadrin
Though it s made from all natural ingredients, Celadrin is actually a patented product sold under a brand label. Their ingredients are very similar to the herbs listed here, but formulated for extra efficacy. While other arthritis treatments tend to exaggerate, Celadrin is actually a remarkable tool for pain reduction and decreasing instances of inflammation.
Chondroitin Sulphate
A steady supply of chondroitin sulphate can help to lubricate the body and its joints, therefore reducing the pain associated with osteoarthritis. By lubricating the joints, this sulphate prevents further damage to the bone caused by rubbing, and therefore reduces pain and prevents progression of the disease.
Devil's Claw
Devil's Claw is an effective arthritis treatment that not only reduces inflammation, but also relieves symptoms and the general pain associated with arthritis. Despite its efficacy, it has not been involved in many clinical trials. However, anecdotal evidence suggests it s very effective.
Cat's Claw
Cat's claw is a powerful botanical that comes from the Amazon Peruvian rain forest. With its anti inflammatory properties, cat's claw is often used for treating arthritis and fibromyalgia. This herb also has a rich source of pynogenol, a powerful antioxidant and free radical scavenger.
Evening Primrose Herb
Evening primrose is used to treat a variety of inflammation problems, not just osteoarthritis. However, its oil contains something called gamma linolenic acid which helps reduce inflammation. This acid is particularly effective in treating patients with osteoarthritis and has been proven in clinical studies to be just as effective as some contemporary pharmaceutical drugs.
Ginger
Ginger is a popular herb that has a wide variety of uses and abilities. It s often used as an anti inflammatory and has been demonstrated to improve symptoms. People taking regular doses of ginger on an ongoing basis report reduced pain, reduced swelling and improved movement and mobility.
The great thing about ginger is that the side effects are minimal, aside from a bit of burping and maybe a little bad breath. If you re concerned about ginger breath, try scent free ginger tablets.
The natural pain relief treatments listed above are known to be safe and relatively safe from undesirable side effects. However, before you start any new type of treatment or medication, you should always consult with your physician to help ensure that the mix of any alternatives don t produce negative consequences with prescriptions you may be taking.

Growing Older May Just Be a Choice
By: Jason Begley
It used to be said that as people gained in years that all they wanted was to age gracefully. These days it is more common to hear that people just flat out do not want to grow old. As technology advances and the medical communitys understanding of the aging process deepens, society might be nearing a time when growing old may just be a choice.
There has always been a faction within the community that has been prepared to do whatever was necessary to fight the effects of time on their physical appearance. For many years this has meant basic skin care or potentially even surgery.
Basic skin care has come in a couple of different forms. At home use lotions and potions are, or course, absolutely common place. Over the counter items such as moisturizers and cleansers are part of most every womans, not to mention an increasing number of mens, daily routine. Sun screen should be viewed with equal importance. There may be less to repair in terms of aging and damage to the skin if the negative effects of sun exposure are kept to a minimum.
When not relying on at home maintenance and repair remedies, many people also seek to place the health of their skin the hand of a skin care professional, known as a licensed esthetician. On average, a licensed esthetician has completed between three hundred and perhaps as many as seven hundred fifty hours of specialized training at a school licensed by their local state board of cosmetology. Estheticians master the art of facials, waxing, chemical peels, product selection and usage, and much more.
When basic skin care is not enough, many turn to surgery. From face lifts, eyelid surgeries, liposuction, and more, a plastic or cosmetic surgeon may hold the key through their specialized training and experience to provide significant cosmetic enhancements that may truly help to roll back the hands of time. Wrinkles and lax skin may be a thing of the past after surgery, but going under the knife does always have its drawbacks. Anesthesia, discomfort, and recovery time are common, not to mention the financial impact of electing to participate in such services.
While none of these approaches are necessarily new, there is another option that is gaining prevalence; the medical spa. The medical spa is a virtual hybrid between traditional basic skin care and medically based cosmetic enhancement services. The medical spa, or medspa as they are commonly referred to, has filled the void for many who want a higher degree of results from their visits to their local skin care professional.
The medical spa features treatments and services that are primarily non-invasive, involve no anesthesia, and require no down time. As they bridge the gap between the spa and the doctors office, medical spa clients can achieve a greater degree of results that can help to roll back the years by reducing wrinkles, reversing sun damage, tightening skin, erasing spider veins, reducing cellulite, and more. As these technologies continue to evolve and medical spa treatments become more accessible, in the near future looking older really may just be a choice.

ATP or Adrenosine Triphoshate is the principle factor in the transferring of energy in the body. Without ATP, your body would be unable to utilise any energy. ATP ensures that all aspects of cellular activity can take place. As the skin is the largest organ in the body huge amounts of ATP are necessary to allow it to thrive, regenerate and renew itself. ATP is created on demand, when needed by the body. It is literally required for everything that takes place in the body, from DNA replication and skin regeneration to muscle contraction and collagen synthesis.
ATP and AgeingIn terms of anti ageing ATP is at the top of the pile. Forget miracle claiming products, without ATP say hello to the signs of ageing and get used to them. By the time we reach 60 the amount of ATP, used (and therefore produced) by the body will have almost halved compared with when we were in our 20’s. So if you’re over 60 and complain of a lack of energy, well you couldn’t be more accurate. A lack of ATP means the body functions inefficiently and so too will your skin.
Maximising ATPYour body doesn’t store ATP, it manufacturers it when needed. In order to maximise the production of ATP you first need to create the ideal environment in which to do so. Someone who exercises regularly, drinks 2 litres of water and eats a healthy balanced diet will be well on their way to creating the ideal environment in which ATP can be produced. Topically applied products can have a dramatic impact too. The key ingredients to encourage ATP synthesis are: Unichondrin ATP (ATP itself), Thiotaine, Mitostime, Palmitoyle Dipeptide-5, Palmitoyle Dipeptide-6. The first product to incorporate these ‘‘BUZZ’’ ingredients is the BT cocktail by Bio Therapeutic. This product launched late last year has already been voted best new anti-ageing product by Spa Magazine.Using this product for 60 days can achieve amazing results ; Up to 80% reduction of pore size and number of visible pores, up to 70% reduction in deep lines and wrinkles, up to 41% reduction of fine lines, up to 40% improvement of elasticity.
Additional boost required? The new Bt cocktail product can have incredible results when used alone, but combine it with a Microcurrent treatment and not only will you see all the benefits of increased ATP synthesis but you’ll also re-define the contours of your face and re-educate muscles by lifting – It really is a non-surgical facelift! The Bio Ultimate Platinum Machine, developed by Bio Therapeutic utilizes Suzuki sequencing Microcurrent – which is the single most powerful tool to maximise ATP energy potential. The Bio Ultimate Platinum Machine has been proven to increase ATP production by as much as 500%. So following a course of these treatments you’ll have more than enough energy. Side benefits of this treatment are increases in collagen (more than 12% in 20 days) , increases in elastin (more than 48% in 20 days) and an increase in circulation (more than 39% in 20 days). So if you’re in desperate need of an anti ageing boost the Bt Cocktail Products and Bio Ultimate Platinum Machine will give you a surge of energy and leave your skin looking better than it ever has before.
It’s important to discuss all your skin and anti ageing options with a skin care therapist before delving straight in. This will ensure that you get exactly the right treatments for you. You may feel that these treatments will be expensive but they actually start at as little as £100/140€, so it is an affordable, long term option. Home Remedies For Wrinkles - Read This If You Want to Reduce Your Wrinkles!
By: Foo Kwong Meng
Home remedies for wrinkles? Most home remedies uses herbs and ingredients that are readily available at home kitchen. I have tried to combine these, some in varying formulation, to produce concoctions. In this article, I will share with you how I found my solution to my wrinkles problem.
How wrinkles develop
Many experts, however, have serious doubts as to the effectiveness and reliability of these home made remedies in our quest for solutions for skin wrinkles. We need to deeply understand how wrinkles are developed and how to combat them more effectively. Wrinkles are formed because the skin loses elasticity. The skin is firm and elastic because of the collagen bundles and elastin that hold together the fatty tissues underneath the skin. As we advance in age, we begin to lose substantial amount of collagen molecules. In fact, it is already established that a normal person will lose a third of the original collagen mass found in the body upon reaching the age of 45 years or so. After reaching 25, we start losing collagen content at the rate of 1.5% per year. Substantial reduction of collagen presence in the skin leads to wrinkles and sagging.
More about topical application
To evaluate if home made remedies for wrinkles are truly effective, we also need to look first at how topical application of those home remedies work. In the medical community, the effectiveness of a topical treatment is largely influenced by the ability of the treatments to be absorbed by the affected area of the body.
Granting that the ingredients do contain those long proven elements and substances that effectively treat a particular skin condition, it still remains to be seen how much exactly of those substances are absorbed by the skin. Some techniques call for direct intake of collagen or collagen producing agents. This is all right, though. Take in those substances orally and you help the body regenerate collagen from within.
But topical application of collagen is already considered ineffective. This is because collagen and elastin, another similarly helpful type of protein that makes the skin elastic, cannot be absorbed by the skin directly. To be effective, it must reach the deepest layers of the skin. The same principle works for those homes made remedies.
There is nothing wrong with using all natural ingredients. I, myself, am a serious proponent of their use to combat to attain a healthy living condition. The issue is not about the ingredients used, rather on the methods used to treat wrinkles. Some use egg white, yogurt, castor oil, vitamin E capsules, honey and lemon, among others. These ingredients are rich sources of vitamin E and many other essential elements. They are also good sources of anti-oxidants that fight the free radicals in the body. But why spend time mixing them in a vain hope of treating your wrinkles when you can just eat them?
All-natural skin care products are shown to be effective because they are scientifically formulated and designed for specific types of skin. Varying skin types require different skin care products. These creams are backed by years of research and widely accepted techniques. Home made remedies for wrinkles can be considered as secondary only. Well formulated creams and lotions take less of your time, are less messy, more convenient to carry, work faster and target areas more specifically. Most importantly, the molecular structure of those natural substances is too small that enables them to be easily absorbed even by the deeper layers of the skin.
Now, do yourself a favor and try to see any marked difference between the two treatment types. You find it out yourself, for I had already found mine.

Healthy Living to Fight Skin Aging

The legendary search for the fountain of youth is all that it is -- legendary.
Beauty experts and cosmetic companies have devoted thorough and continuing research on the best creams, powders, serums and chemicals that can help keep our skin-- the most visible and exposed organ in the human body-- from looking its actual age. It may prove successful for the many who have engaged in a great deal of beauty regimens and practices, including botox and surgery, but the fact remains that our body ages. All we can do is to keep it from looking and feeling old. Growing old is something everybody and everything just cannot avoid.
What many people ought to know though is that keeping our body and skin looking and feeling young need not be complicated. More importantly, it need not be expensive or invasive, it need not be chemical or synthetic.
Staying young and looking ten or even twenty years younger than our actual age, involves keeping our skin moisturized and our body detoxified. The best anti-aging techniques involve adopting a healthy and stress free lifestyle.
Lay off those synthetic and chemically produced moisturizers. Go natural and save up on your budget. The best moisturizer and anti-aging substance on earth is simple water. Just as a plant droops, dries and dies without water, so does our body - which is made up of approximately 70% water. Make sure you replenish fluids lost by drinking the popularly prescribed eight glasses of water per day or even more. Drinking water is the best way to keep your skin moisturized from the inside out. Keeping our skin moisturized helps it retain its suppleness, preventing wrinkles and crows feet which can be exacerbated by dryness.
Water likewise flushes out free radicals and toxins from the body mainly through urine and perspiration. Keeping our body clean keeps it young.
Another good way to detoxify our body and maintain its youth is to eat fruits and vegetables. Not only are these rich in much needed vitamins, it is also rich in fiber. Vitamins C and A are known to protect our skin from free radicals while Vitamin E helps keep our skin looking young. Tomatoes, bell peppers, citrus fruits like oranges, lemons and grapefruit are vitamin C -rich fruits and vegetables. Look for Vitamin A in squash, carrots, papayas and mangoes as well as in green leafy vegetables like spinach and lettuce. Eggplants, nuts and vegetable oils on the other hand are great Vitamin E sources.
Lastly, adopt a stress free lifestyle. This may sound impossible in the fast paced world we now live in, but its not. Make a habit of inculcating a good number of stress releasing activities in your day. Take a leisurely walk home from work. Give yourself the luxury of taking long warm baths in the tub while listening to soothing music or watch a relaxing feel-good movie.
If you can, allow yourself a visit to the gym at least twice a week, Enroll in yoga and meditation classes or you can even get yourself involved in a new hobby like pottery, handicrafts, quilting and jewelry making. These not only help keep your mind off the stress of your work but helps in fostering your creativity and passion, another way to keep you and your body glowing and thus looking and feeling youthful.
