ARE you ready to view an extremely rare Vietnam War era vintage slide show?

Back in the 1960s and early 70s, a young man took hundreds of photographs of rural neighborhoods and small towns in southeastern Ohio.

While he was still a teenager, he volunteered to serve in the United States Air Force. His tour of duty included 4 years during Vietnam War. With his vintage color camera, he captured the essence of those distant times and places on film.

While servng in the Air Force, he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and other Asia military bases. These very old and extremely rare digitized images give you a sampling of what life was like for a young man in rural Ohio and while serving in the U.S Air Force during the Vietnam War.

In the future, we hope to get specific details about each image and then, put some descriptive text to the photos. At some point, we may also put these images into a picture show and sort them into specific groupings.

For the time being, we wanted to give our family and closest friends this very special slide show - as a present from Pooler-Georgia-HOMEPAGE.

Are you ready to go back in time and across the glode? Grab a cup of Java and prepare to take a journey to a world experienced by a small town patriot, over 30 years ago.

Be forewarned - there are numerous low-quality landscape type images included in the collection. These slides were hidden away for over three decades. We wanted to make sure they would (from this day, forward) be available to enjoy in their entirety.



Later, when we add text to the images, these sometimes bland landscapes will become more meaningful for you.

For now, remember these faded, anitque images are "one-of-a-kind." No other person on this earth captured these exact images and you won't seee than anywhere else on the Web.



These photographs have not (yet) been brightened or enhanced with modern photographic software. These old slides have simply been scanned and converted to a digital format.
